Irish Inter-Varsity Match Play 2015 vs NUIM in Carton House Golf Club, Maynooth

Posted by Golf on Mon, 02-03-2015

5 of our NUIG students travelled up to Carton House Golf Club to compete against the mighty NUIMaynooth (b). This team consisted of Enda Craddock, Ryan O'Doherty, Colm Hughes, Peter Fleming and Cathal Nolan. The lads competed well, but it was not their day as they lost 4-1. The score flatters the NUIM team as it was a very tight match, which saw NUIG losing matches on the 18th and 20th holes of the tricky Montgomery Golf Course. Hopefully things will turn around for us in the event this time next year. Nonetheless congrats to the Maynooth lads, we wish them all the best in the next round of ...

NUI Galway TKD first month back

Posted by Tae Kwon Do on Mon, 29-09-2014

During the first week of semester one the NUI Galway TKD Club was happy to welcome members new and old, and was itself reminded of the joy involved in a progressive discipline such as Taekwon-Do that can offer so much to the students and the trainers alike. It did not take long to fall in and line-up at the first training session. We all trained together and then apart in separate belt grades, before joining back together for some stretching. The committee used the camera and took pictures of the high speed action during training, which were later uploaded to the NUI Galway TKD Facebook page. ...

With a member pulling out of our team at the last moment and the largest number of entries in the National Intervarsity Competition, the odds were against the NUIG Equestrian team.Spirits were running high though and you could see the determination on the faces of the show jumping team of Samantha Duffy, Joey Igoe, and John Philbin as they entered the ring.
